The Roseline Shark (Sahyadria denisonii), also known as the Denison Barb or Red-Line Torpedo Barb, is one of the most sought-after freshwater fish in the hobby. Its torpedo-shaped silver body is adorned with a vivid red stripe running from snout to mid-body, a bold black lateral line, and flashes of yellow and green on the tail — a living jewel that commands attention in any aquascape.
- Temperament: Peaceful, active schooling fish — best kept in groups of 5 or more
- Tank size: Minimum 200 L (55 gal) for a school; strong swimmers that need open space
- Water parameters: Temperature 15–25°C | pH 6.5–7.8 | Moderate flow preferred
- Diet: Omnivore — accepts high-quality pellets, flake, frozen foods, and blanched vegetables
- Adult size: Up to 15 cm (6") — these are large, robust specimens
