White Cloud Mountain Minnow

The White Cloud Mountain Minnow (Tanichthys albonubes) is a hardy, cold-tolerant schooling fish native to the mountain streams of southern China. Named after White Cloud Mountain near Guangzhou, this species was once considered extinct in the wild — making captive-bred specimens all the more remarkable.

With their iridescent lateral stripe and vivid red-tipped fins, White Clouds are a stunning addition to any peaceful community tank or unheated aquarium. They thrive in groups of six or more, displaying their best colours and natural schooling behaviour when kept together.
